This series of training modules provides practical knowledge and tools to strengthen blue carbon and blue food systems. Each module builds skills that can be applied directly to fieldwork, research, and community engagement.

Foundations

An entry point to core concepts, this module introduces blue carbon, blue food systems, and their role in climate, livelihoods, and conservation.

Field and lab methods (MRV)

Covers measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) techniques. Participants learn field sampling, lab analysis, and data handling for credible results.

Baselines, change detection

Focuses on establishing baselines and monitoring change over time. It highlights tools and approaches to detect shifts in ecosystems and carbon stocks.

Safeguards, and verification

Explains how to ensure projects meet social and environmental safeguards. Emphasis is placed on verification processes that build trust and transparency.

Data and mapping studio

Hands-on practice in working with spatial data, mapping tools, and visualisation methods to support research, planning, and decision-making.

Effective Communication methods

Strengthens the ability to share knowledge with different audiences. The module explores storytelling, media tools, and techniques for clear messaging.

Community Based Storytelling

Centres on participatory approaches where communities craft and share their own stories, ensuring local voices shape conservation and development narratives.
